I know a few people but not many. People are running around screaming a lot or trying to kill each other so I'm a little wary of going out too much.

It seems like it's kind of safe right after all the screaming dies down, at least for a week, that is.

True, but the screaming then starts up at weird intervals. And sometimes its not even the town that starts all the screaming, it just happens.

I don't know. Running a country required a lot of advisers and things. Its not like you can just decide things arbitrarily, if you do the people aren't happy, then the kingdom suffers, there are revenue problems, you can't keep your military together. Basically everything goes bad if you don't have the necessary support structure in place.
